National Library of Australia ကေန newsletter ယူထားလို့ စိတ္ဝင္စားစရာ သတင္းေလး ေတြ့မိတယ္။ ေခတ္ေဟာင္း သတင္းစာေတြထဲက ေဆာင္းပားေတြကို digitise လုပ္ေနတာ ေဆာင္းပားေပာင္း သန္း ၂၀ ရွိျပီလို့ သိရပာတယ္။ အဲဒီေဆာင္းပားကေတာ့ ေဖေဖာှဝာရီလ ၅ရက္ ၁၉၄၉ ခုနွစ္က Tasmania ျပည္နယ္မွာ ထုတ္ခဲ့တဲ့ The Mercury သတင္းစာမွျဖစ္ပာတယ္။ သတင္းစာေတြကို OCR နည္းပညာသံုးျပီး ရုပ္ပံုကေန စာသားအျဖစ္ သတင္းစာေပာင္း ၄သန္းေက်ာှကေန ေဆာင္းပားေပာင္း သန္း၄၀ ေက်ာှ ကြန္ပ်ူတာမွုျပုဖို့ လ်ာထားရာမွာ မိုင္တိုင္ခရီးတဝက္ေရာက္ျပီခဲ့ပာျပီ။

ဒီလို ကြန္ပ်ူတာမွု ျပုရျခင္းကေတာ့ အားလံုးအတြက္ လြတ္လြတ္လပ္လပ္ သံုးစြဲလို့ရေအာင္ စာျကည့္တိုက္ကေန ဦးေဆာင္ျပီး လုပ္ေနတာျဖစ္ပာတယ္။ သတင္းစာ ဖတ္ရတဲ့ အရသာလည္း မပ်က္၊ အင္တာနက္ကေန လူအမ်ား ရွာေဖြလို့ ရေအာင္လည္း လုပ္ေပးထားတာ တကယ္ကို ေကာင္းတဲ့ program ပာ။ ဒီလုပ္ငန္းကို ၂၀၀၇ ခုနွစ္ မတ္လမွာ copyright သက္တမ္း ကုန္ဆံုးသြားတဲ့ သတင္းစာေတြနဲ့ စတင္ခဲ့တာျဖစ္ျပီး ၂၀၀၇ ဂ်ူလိုင္လမွာေတာ့ Australian Newspapers website ကို စတင္ လြွင့္တင္ခဲ့ပာတယ္။ အဲဒီအခ်ိန္မွာေတာ့ ၁၈၀၀ ျပည့္နွစ္ေတြကေန ၁၉၅၀ ပိုင္းေတြအထိ ၁၈၀၃ ခုနွစ္ ဆစ္ဒနီျမို့မွာ စတင္ထုတ္ေဝခဲ့တဲ့ ပထမဆံုး ဩစေတးလ် သတင္းစာ အပာအဝင္ copyright သက္တမ္း က်န္ေသးတဲ့ သတင္းစာေတြပာ ကြန္ပ်ူတာမွု ျပုနိုင္ခဲ့ပာတယ္။ အက်ိုးရလာဒ္ကေတာ့ ေခတ္ေဟာင္း သတင္းစာထဲက ေဆာင္းပားေတြကို ကိုယ့္အိမ္ကေန အခမဲ့ အလြယ္တကူ ရွာေဖြဖတ္ရွုနိုင္ျခင္းပဲ ျဖစ္ပာတယ္။ ဒာ့အျပင္ ဂူဂဲလ္ရဲ့ News Archive ကေနတဆင့္လည္း ရွာေဖြ့လို့ ရေအာင္ လုပ္ထားပာတယ္။ သတင္းစာပာ ေဆာင္းပားေပာင္း သန္း၄ဝကို ၂၀၁၁ ဂ်ူလိုင္လမွာ အျပီးသတ္ ကြန္ပ်ူတာမွုျပုဖို့ ရည္မွန္းထားတယ္လို့လည္း သိရပာတယ္။

BURMESE GOVERNMENT ORDERS USE OF BOMBS

RANGOON, Fri. - It is authoritatively reported that the Burmese Government has ordered its air force to make incendiary bomb attacks on the Karen rebels.
The rebels are now perilously near Rangoon. Bitter fighting still rages along the railway north-west of Rangoon.
A financial crisis has added to the government's troubles and appeals have been made against a general strike. Ciivil servants have been asked to accept  a cut in their living allowance.
Prisoners Freed
The rebels freed more than 1,600 prisoners when they attacked and broke into the goal at Insein on Wednesday, it was officially stated today.
The rebels incorporated / into their ranks all Karen prisoners, but gave others their freedom. One prisoner was killed and six wounded during mortar shelling of the goal by the rebels.
The main prison blocks were burned down, but the 200 warders were unharmed.
It was officially learned today that Captain David Vivian, a former British Army officer, sentenced to five years "rigorous impisonment" last August for violation of the Arms Act was "rescued" by the Karens when they fordced the prison.
Vivian, who was in charge of the British Army Ordnance Depot at Rangoon, was arrested in June last year, and charged with complicity in the disposal of arms.
